The CES Cinema Studies Network aims to bring together and highlight the work of scholars and students with interest in Central, Eastern, and Southern European cinema cultures. We are particularly keen on cultivating stronger international exchange that could lead to new collaborative projects bringing scholars from diverse geopolitical regions together.

The network was founded by Ervin Malakaj (University of British Columbia) and Zoran Samardzija (Columbia College Chicago). 

Our first initiative is titled, "New Work in Central, Eastern, and Southern European Cinemas," and is a virtual roundtable series highlighting recent scholarship on the topic. To find out more about the initiative, click here.
